Zaven Rock-and-roll interview Series: Paula Reichenberg, CEO & Co-Founder of Neuron

Q: Do you believe in magic, especially when it comes to Gen AI?
Paula: “I’ve stopped believing in magic, but many lawyers in Switzerland seem to be embracing it with open arms. They’ve discovered tools like ChatGPT and are blown away by what it can do. They’re saying, ‘Just wait until next year—it will be twice as good.’ But the reality is, while technology is evolving quickly, it’s not actually doubling in capability every year. Machine translation, for instance, felt magical when you first tried Google Translate’s latest update years ago. But today, while it’s still impressive, it’s not that much better. The progress isn’t as exponential as it may seem at first.”

Q: What does it take to be a winner in the legal tech industry?
Paula: “In Switzerland, where I’ve been closely involved with the legal tech scene, I’ve seen legal techs started by engineers and others founded by lawyers, but neither type can succeed on its own. To truly be a winner, a legal tech company needs a deep understanding of the use cases and legal requirements, as well as the engineering capabilities to make it all work. It’s about merging legal insight with tech expertise to meet specific, complex needs.”

Q: Any final thoughts on Legal Tech Talk in London and the industry overall?
Paula: “I’m incredibly impressed by the scale of this event. The organisers have done an amazing job of bringing together such a diverse group of legal experts from around the world. The pace here in London gives the event a unique energy, which is inspiring for a Swiss legal tech enthusiast like myself. It’s been an absolute pleasure to experience this, and I credit Brad and his team for putting it all together.”
